Who are we?

We are a small, tight-knit team of coffee lovers with a big vision!

After 20 years in the coffee industry, we know great coffee!

We are very excited to be able to create our own brand of coffee.

Our vision for Higher Ground, was not only to create a delicious coffee blend that was iconically Aotearoa, but also to grow the community of people making a difference by choosing to produce & consume products that are more sustainable.

Proudly based in the heart of Central Otago with its vast open spaces and rugged
mountains, this place is pretty special, it was really important to us that our brand
encapsulated this point of difference.

It was from here the bases of Higher Ground were formed!

Higher Ground Coffee is a truly authentic blend of caramel, nuts and red berries.
It is everything we love about coffee from bean to cup - we source 100% Fair-trade Arabica beans, grown at altitude to bring out their natural sweetness. They are then handpicked to ensure only the ripest, best quality beans are
gathered.

From there, the beans are sent to our state of the art roastery and slowly monitored by one of Aotearoa’s top roasters, Scott Pepler, who carefully oversees all stages of this careful process.

With his passion and integrity, he ensures all batches are consistent and of the same high quality, the finished product is a distinctively bold, incredibly balanced and proudly made, Aotearoa roast!

If you would like to join us here at Higher Ground, simply get in touch
and let’s make a plan that is just right for you!

Why Fairtrade?

Did you know? The coffee industry led the way in sustainability, by developing Fairtrade products.

It’s about supporting producers by providing long term trading security and assisting in community development including housing, healthcare, educational and environmental programs. If you would like more information on Fairtrade, go to www.fairtrade.org.nz
